Ratatouille is the eighth animated film american pictures synthesis Pixar 2, directed by Brad Bird and released in theaters in 2007.
Well received by both the public and critics, it rises right out the top of the box office in the United States, France and the United Kingdom. The film received several awards including the Oscar for Best Animated Film in 2007.

The studios consulted Debbie Ducommun, an expert in rats, about their habits and characteristics.
In addition, to study the movements of rats, a year before the shooting is installed at the entrance to Pixar, a large cage full of rats and could run, walk, or sleep.

Some traits of character chef Auguste Gusteau perhaps were not created by Jan Pinkava but inspired by the life of a real chef, Bernard Loiseau. In the film, Gusteau has disappeared, there are rumors about the fact that seems to have committed suicide after losing a star for his great restaurant because he always tried to achieve excellence with its five stars.

It was a challenge for filmmakers to create all the decorations, especially those related to food, created by computers: it was, according to the director, they appear delicious. To do this, the crew consulted several gourmet chefs, both in America and in France, and facilitators of culinary schools in the Bay Area of San Francisco to understand the organization of an industrial kitchen. In particular, they visited Taillevent restaurant, Guy Savoy, Hélène Darroze at La Tour d'Argent, Cyril Lignac, Café Procope and Le Train Bleu restaurant. Michael Warsh, one of the many film technicians had before working for Pixar studios follow a culinary training school before shooting the film, which allowed him to help other technicians, designers sets.

Won two Victoires de la Musique, the singer Camille, revelation of the French song in 2006 with his album "The Wire", interprets the flagship song of the film, entitled "The Feast." The singer also lends his voice to Colette, the colleague kitchen Linguini. Pixar has even pushed perfectionism to ask (true those) French chefs Guy Savoy and Cyril Lignac to lend their voices to the needs of the film.

My opinion:
I confess to a fondness for this animated film which boasts French cuisine (which is the cultural heritage of UNESCO since 2010)
In these times of malbouffes and obesity, it is gratifying that, for once, healthy food is in the spotlight.
The filmmakers were not deceived by targeting certain dishes and children, because this film has allowed my children to ask me to taste the ratatouille.

The fact that a rat, by definition, an animal that searches the garbage to eat everything he can find, be choosy rather well found.
If a rat prefers good food, why not us?

This film also has the advantage of reminding us that we French have the chance to have a huge gastronomic heritage and often forgotten is that we envy everywhere

For someone who, like me, loves good food, this film is a treat.

Child's hand, the main character, the rat is sacred anymore.
An animal demonized the base and here is adorable and gourmet.
And my kids love to see Remy in his first attempts to control Linguini, they laugh out loud before the disaster!
