In his theory, vampirism is not transmitted, it is in itself. A goddess you mean, a tattoo appears on your forehead, and after that, you should go immediately into a "House of Night" begin your studies to become a vampire, studies in which you can die if your body does not support the transformation
Vampires are integrated into society but frowned upon by it.

Anyway, I had a great time with this book I have not been able to let go until you have finished!

I must say that I love this series, although I think Volume 1 a little more superficial than others, but hey, this is overtaken by history!
I had a little trouble believing in the existence of the characters, they are a little too idealized, too bad ... I do not see how people like them (besides the fact that it is for most vampires ) can exist! I must say that it saddens me a little, as if they were paper mache ...
That said, I still enjoyed this first volume is a very enjoyable read!
