I had heard good, this book. Especially in the beautiful Ardanuel and I conquered my turn! And like all the novels that were shots heart, I have a lot of trouble writing a column that does them justice and could spend all that this book has given me!
The novel starts out with a bang! No time to make his mark, the author takes us into the thick of things at the risk of us breathless, and I loved it!
No superfluous description, no lengths to camp the story, as can be seen in many novels! No, here is just the basics, with a touch of emotion.
The heroine, Elisa, is perfect! Far from the usual heroines, it stands out for its physical and character that evolves throughout the pages.
Full of flaws and doubts, it is so easy to identify with it!
But little by little, it changes its character grows, its shape changes, such as the caterpillar becomes a butterfly
A change that we follow with pleasure increasingly large.
The story mixes war, fantasy, prophecy, love, over centuries and centuries, with a plot finely done, effective and rhythmic writing and end on a high note!
Elisa is such an endearing heroine. Its main problem is obesity. She lacks confidence in her, and compensates by eating, sometimes it can not. She feels useless and does not understand why Fate has made her an elected.
It perfectly illustrates the emotions and challenges of this disease (obesity is a disease). The author takes the opportunity to hit where it hurts: you can not walk long, you sweat a lot ..)
But beyond the moral that the author of a subtle pen, gives us in his novel, it also offers a glimmer of hope can not be in the standards and be loved. And perseverance, Elisa eventually love and discover that far from being repelled by it, others love it too.
This is, I think, the great strength of this book that will appeal to many young people through these problems!
The narration in the first person singular and present (Elisa tells her story) gives incredible strength to the story, and I felt every emotion, every pain Elisa like mine.
The secondary characters are also a great strength of this story: the beautiful but loose Alejandro, secret Ximena Cosmée, Father Nicandro the little Rosario, and especially Hector and Humberto, my favorite characters with Elisa!
I suggest you jump on this novel! I'll look forward to after the end of 2012!
